The man who shot up a salon in Seal Beach, killing eight people and wounding a ninth, told police officers upon being arrested that he knew what he had done.CBS News reports that Scott Dekraai, 42, had fought with his ex-wife Michelle Fournier the morning of the massacre.

More information has been released about yesterday's shooting in Canyon Country that took place outside a shopping center, reports L.A. Now. The suspects are four young teenagers, between the ages of 13 and 16. They allegedly arranged to meet a man outside a strip mall and buy a Nintendo DS from him, but when he got there, they attempted to rob him.

An Amber Alert has been issued for two Shasta County area kids, reports KTLA. Five-year-old Mya Sandoval and seven-year-old Michael Sandoval are believed to be with 31-year-old April Joy Schwartz, and were reported missing yesterday at 6:00 p.m.

West Hollywood's Costume Carnaval is well-known as the best place to get your revel on for Halloween, replete as it is with giant crowds, fabulous costumes and drunken faceplants. And as always, the morning after presents a fun challenge for clean-up crews.

Two people were stabbed this morning following an altercation in a Metro red line station, reports L.A. Now. It's the third in recent months. It happened at about 4:30 a.m. at the Hollywood and Western stop, and the victims, a man and a woman, were taken to the hospital after the incident. The man, whose throat had been slashed, was in serious but stable condition. The woman was in stable condition.

Following a fire this afternoon, Magic Castle will be closed for Halloween, reports L.A. Now. The fire broke out around lunchtime, and was quickly attended to by about 120 firefighters. It was doused by 1:34 p.m., but apparently had done enough damage to warrant the shuttering of tonight's festivities.

Two people were shot outside a Canyon Country shopping area this afternoon, reports NBC Los Angeles. The shooting took place just past 3:00 p.m. near Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway., and it's unclear what the motivation was. Both victims were taken to the hospital, and police say that four black males are the primary suspects.
