Scott Dekraai Allegedly Fought With Ex-Wife Before Salon Massacre
The man who shot up a salon in Seal Beach, killing eight people and wounding a ninth, told police officers upon being arrested that he knew what he had done.CBS News reports that Scott Dekraai, 42, had fought with his ex-wife Michelle Fournier the morning of the massacre. He then allegedly loaded up his car with weapons, including a number of guns, and ammunition, went to the beach to think about what he was about to do, then went to Salon Meritage, where she worked.
Once he showed up at the salon, he allegedly shot Fournier first, killing her. He then allegedly shot another woman, Christy Lynn Wilson, who had testified against him in a child custody dispute (Dekraai and Fournier were engaged in a custody battle over their eight-year-old son).
Derkaai proceeded to shoot the seven other victims, including one in the parking lot, before leaving the scene of the crime.
He was arrested without incident several blocks away from Salon Meritage.
