Two robbers were thwarted last night in downtown when a woman they were trying to steal a necklace from fought back, reports City News Service. The incident happened near Seventh and Maple Streets. The two young men, 18-year-old David Ramirez, of Downey and a 17-year-old from South Los Angeles whose name hasn't been released, allegedly tried to grab the 25-year-old woman's jewelry from her neck.

The OC serial killer who was targeting homeless men was brought down in large part by one 32-year-old man, and that man is now speaking to the press. Donny Hopkins of Yorba Linda allegedly saw Itzcoatl Ocampo, 23, as he was stabbing one of his victims behind a Carl's Jr. Hopkins ran after him, and eventually dialed 9-1-1 and led the police to Ocampo.

Robert Casteel, the dad of fourth-grader at a Riverside elementary school, decided to take out a restraining order against one of his 10-year-old son's classmates after the boy pulled out a knife and told his son that he was going to hurt him after school, reports KTLA.

A girl's soccer coach in Irvine has been accused of forcing a 13-year-old girl to make pornographic videos of herself, some of which he then posted online. A man is in grave condition after he was shot in the head during a home invasion in Downey, reports City News Service. The man, whose name hasn't been released, was found by police on the 9300 block of Elm Vista Drive after they responded to a call reporting gunfire.

A man swinging a three-foot metal pole and allegedly breaking windows in a Carl's Jr. in Monterey Park was shot and killed by police officers this morning. CBS News reports that responded to a call for help at about 9:30 a.m. on the 1200 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue.
