The LA County Sheriff's Department is conducting an investigation into the shooting of an unarmed father of two by officers over the weekend, reports KTLA. Jose de la Trinidad was reportedly in the car in Willowbrook with his brother when police tried to pull them over for a routine traffic stop.

Jonah Hill and CNN anchor Don Lemon got into something of a bitchfight this week, reports TMZ. Apparently Lemon saw Hill leaving the bathroom of a hotel, said hello and shook hands with him, but later claimed that Hill treated him like "a bellman."

Pacific Coast Highway is closed in both directions between Sweetwater Mesa and Carbon Canyon because of a gas line break. The road shut down at about 10:20 this morning, and officials expect it to stay closed for between two and three hours.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Compton yesterday afternoon, reports City News Service. He had been standing on the 300 block of West Magnolia Street when he was gunned down. He was identified as Jesus Morales, and died yesterday at a local hospital. Authorities believe that the shooting was gang-related.

USC has announced new security guidelines in the wake of a Halloween shooting that left four people injured. The shooting took place at a party hosted by the Black Student Assembly. Neither the shooter nor the victims were USC students, but the party was being held on campus at the Ronald Tutor Center.

A 24-year-old man was arrested today for sexually assaulting a woman in Laguna Hills, reports City News Service. The victim was waiting for a cab at 1:30 a.m. when two men stopped and asked if she wanted a ride.

Police yesterday found a man engulfed in flames next to his pickup truck in Costa Mesa, CA. ABC News reports that the 49-year-old victim, whose name hasn't been released pending notification of his family, was discovered by passers-by at about 4:50 p.m.
