A business executive in Newport Beach has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife, whose body has still not been found. Peter Chadwick is being accused of murdering his wife Quee "QC" Chadwick, 46. He was arrested yesterday morning in San Diego after he called police from the 905 freeway asking for help.

A woman was sexually assaulted yesterday during an early morning run on a beach in Santa Monica. The assault happened around 4:50 am just north of the Santa Monica pier.

The California Supreme decided today that it wasn't going to a take a second look at the case of a man convicted of randomly killing a Lancaster man with a crossbow. Arsellers C. Scott was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for slaying a Angel Martinez, a 62-year-old Edwards Air Force Base retiree, who was out on a late-night walk in 2008.

A squirrel tested positive for the bacteria that we associate more with 14th century Europe than Southern California. During routine tests, a squirrel in the San Jacinto Mountains in Riverside county tested positive for the bacteria that causes the bubonic plague.

A man was charged today for fatally stabbing a man at a Shakey's restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley this Saturday. Jose De Jesus Ruiz, 22, of Bakersfield is accused of stabbing Patrick Raymond Ortega, 25, to death during a brawl at the pizza parlor in Monterey Park.
