A Glendale woman was arrested on animal cruelty charges after stabbing her Shiba Inu dog in the face with a kitchen knife. Authorities say Merry Jane Clift, 42, was under the influence of cough syrup when she stabbed her dog Huckleberry several times around its eyes on December 28.

Federal authorities are asking for the public's help finding a man and woman who helped produce widely-circulated images of child pornography about 11 years ago. The files showing a young girl being molested were discovered in Chicago in 2007, but authorities believe that they were taken in Encino about 11 years ago.

A state appeals court has reluctantly overturned the rape conviction of a Southern California man who admitted to pretending to be his victim's boyfriend. The court said that the law only would have considered the woman a victim under these circumstances only if she had been married.
