A man tried to kill his wife before killing himself last night at a complex in Park La Brea. The dead man and injured woman were found Friday night around 8 pm in the huge complex near LACMA.

The Orange County woman who tossed her 7-month-old baby to his death is scheduled for a mental health hearing this morning to determine whether or not she is fit to stand trial. Sonia Hermosillo, 31, threw her baby off the fourth floor of a parking garage at Children's Hospital Orange County last August, and she has since been charged with murder and child abuse.

When investigators searched the home of arson suspect Harry Burkhart they turned up something interesting: news clippings of arson cases in Germany and Los Angeles. Some of the news clippings included stories about car blazes set in Germany last year, but investigators would not comment on whether Burkhart was considered a suspect in those cases.

Detectives in Irvine arrested a Burger King cashier yesterday after watching him pocket the change a mentally disabled adult woman gave him for her lunch. The parents of the woman had noticed that day after day their daughter was coming home without any change leftover from lunch.

We haven't been hearing much about the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department investigation into Natalie Wood's death, which was reopened with great fanfare last November. That is until yesterday when someone from Access Hollywood asked the Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore about whatever happened to that Natalie Wood case.

Police have arrested a man after they said he kicked, punched and tried to poke the eyes out of an 82-year-old man walking past a bus stop in Glendale on Tuesday morning. Police are calling it a "random act of violence."

The arraignment of arson suspect Harry Burkhart has been postponed until later this month. Burkhart, 24, is scheduled to be arraigned January 24.

Some poor tuba players returned to school after a long winter break, only to find that they were victims of tuba thieves that struck again. Tubas have become a popular target for thieves, as banda music's popularity has grown.
