Two women were stabbed inside the Gold Room, a bar on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park early Sunday morning.Eastsider reports that at around 1:30 a.m., a man approached two women who were inside the bar and stabbed one of them. He then allegedly chased the second woman before stabbing her.

According to CBS L.A., neither of the women knew the attacker. Police also said that he fled the bar after the stabbing, but returned carrying a knife a short time after, and was taken into custody.

Both women's injuries were not life threatening, police said.

It's been a busy week for cops patrolling the Echo Park bar scene. Last weekend, police shot a man who whipped out a gun during a fight just a few blocks away from the Gold Room. Another stabbing was reported at the Gold Room in 2015.

Note: this post previously incorrectly stated that the man shot by police in Echo Park last week was killed.
