Man Stabbed At Echo Park's Gold Room

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

A man was stabbed during a bar fight at Gold Room in Echo Park early Thursday morning.

When LAPD officers arrived around 1 a.m. at the bar located at 1558 W. Sunset Blvd., they found the victim stabbed in the torso, according to City News Service. Authorities who were quickly on the scene shortly after the stabbing chased after one of the suspects who had fled and arrested him. They also took another suspect who was outside the bar into custody.

The victim has non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. One of the suspects was injured, and police believe he may have gotten hurt while the victim was trying to defend himself. It's not clear at this point what ignited the fight.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere.
