Topline:

The bus strike in Santa Clarita has ended, with all routes set to resume today.

What happened: Santa Clarita Transit announced on Sunday that MV Transportation reached a new four-year contract with Teamsters Local 572, which represents drivers, dispatchers, and customer service representatives.

The backstory: Workers had been negotiating for over a year with MV Transportation, before voting to authorize a strike in September. One of the union arguments behind the strike was a lack of fair compensation to transit workers, especially those who worked during the pandemic. Disabled riders, students, service workers, and commuters were also affected by the strike.
