'The Enquirer' Has Totally Credible Information About Natalie Wood's Death

Natalie Wood Death Investigation: Is Robert Wagner Responsible for Her Drowning? [UPDATED] / Read the post here

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Critically acclaimed news source The Enquirer reports today that they've obtained new information about what might have happened the night that Natalie Wood died. See if you can follow along here: reporters at The Enquirer spoke to a source who claims to have been living with a woman who spoke to Christopher Walken just after Wood's death was confirmed. That source, Robin Butillo, says that Walken told her roommate that there was a "sex secret" involved in the actress' demise:

“Only hours after her death was confirmed, Chris called...and what he revealed shocked the both of us! “In the phone call, it was clear that Chris was devastated by the tragedy. He was upset and confessed that a ‘sex secret’ had occurred, leading up to Natalie’s death.”

Butillo added: “While it’s clear Chris had no involvement in Natalie’s actual death, he clearly felt the need to unload his sorrow on his friend.”

Scandale! The tabloid goes on to note that while they know what Walken said to the roommate, they're not going to tell it:
The ENQUIRER is withholding the specific details of what Butillo claims Walken allegedly told her roommate about the “sex secret.”

Because that's what news sources do. Withhold news.

Anyway, it's unclear whether this revelation will change the now re-opened investigation into Wood's death, but with such a credible claim, it will no doubt be hard to ignore.

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.

LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.

We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.

No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.

Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
