Sorry Cash-Strapped Culture Lovers: No More Free Parking at The Getty Center and Villa
Budget-conscious art lovers who have taken advantage of free evening parking the Getty Center and the Getty Villa are now going to have to contend with the budget-conscious J. Paul Getty Trust. Both facilities will now charge $10 for parking after 5 p.m. at both facilities, effective November 21.
No matter what brings you to the venues in the evening--music, lectures, exhibits, or special events--you're going to have to buck up to park.
The Getty has suffered a major blow to their finances in recent years. In 2009, the Getty facilities raised daytime parking rates twice in one year to its current $15 per car rate.
Admission to the Getty Center and the Getty Villa will remain free.
