Snapchat, The Profitless Company That Spurned $3 Billion, Moves Out Of Venice Beach Headquarters
Snapchat, the beloved sexting app based out of Venice Beach, has left its beachfront headquarters. It's been a huge month for this profitless app as the company recently rejected Facebook's offer to buy the company for a whopping $3 billion on Nov. 13, and is looking for a better deal.
The "Blu House" bungalow featured an adorable, iconic spirit logo on its Ocean Front Walk Ave. spot, a fixture where Angelenos and tourists would come by and snap selfies. It seems only fitting as Snapchat is a messaging app that allows folks to send photos and videos of themselves to friends that disappear once they're viewed. After its start two years ago, it has since garnered popularity as a fun way to share pictures as well as be notoriously used for sexting.
Snapchat signed a lease for bigger digs in Venice Beach out on Market St. back in June, just a half mile block away from the beach, according to L.A. Commercial Real Estate Advantage, and they recently finished their transition. Their new space covers a large 6,000 square foot office. Maybe that means an even bigger friendly ghost logo will pop up soon!
