In response to an unconfirmed sighting of someone matching the description of fugitive murder suspect Christopher Jordan Dorner in the area of the Twin Towers jail, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says they have locked down the facility.Additionally, streets in the area of the jail have been blocked off, reports City News Service.

The Los Angeles Police Department has gone back on a citywide tactical alert within the last hour; they had been on tactical alert Thursday and overnight, but the order was lifted at 7:30, when LAPD officials said they had sufficient personnel to cover regular duties and the additional protective patrols assigned to those singled out in Dorner's manifesto.

The search for triple-murder suspect and former LAPD cop Dorner has been centered on the community of Big Bear and the rugged terrain surrounding the location where his truck was found burning Thursday. As of the 9 o'clock hour Friday, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials said they had not located Dorner but were continuing the manhunt in the area.

UPDATE 12:03PM: The lock down at the Twin Towers jail was lifted at around 11:45 a.m. Officials say the reason for the lock down and the extreme precaution is that Dorner's ex-wife is an employee at the facility, and there are fears he may try to seek her out. According to a live broadcast on ABC7, the man sighted by a jail employee has since proven to have not been Dorner.
