Photos: How Los Angeles Celebrated Thanksgiving In The 1950s (Yes, There Are Bikinis Involved)
The USC Library has given us a treasure trove of awesome vintage pictures of how Angelenos of all shapes and sizes celebrated Thanksgiving in the middle of the 20th Century.
The pictures are from the hallowed archives of the former Los Angeles Examiner, a Hearst paper that existed from its sister publication, the Los Angeles Herald, until the two merged together to form the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner.
From feeding the homeless and serving the needy to posing in a bikini with an about-to-be condemned turkey, the citizens of Los Angeles have always known how to to celebrate Turkey Day.
