Parking Around Runyon Canyon May Soon Suck Even More

If you thought that parking at Runyon Canyon was a clusterfuck...well, you were right, but it looks like it's about to get even worse.
Under the current permit conditions, which apply to Sierra Bonita between Franklin and Hollywood, and Gardner between Franklin and Hollywood, non-residents are allowed to park for two hours between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., every day.
But KCET reports that on November 2, the City Council OK-ed an ordinance that would expand the permit parking regulations to prohibit parking for non-residents on those streets over the weekends, too.
Residents will still have to petition LADOT to get the signs put up, which would go from reading "No Parking 7PM-8AM and 2 Hour Parking 8AM-7PM" to "No Parking Anytime Except; 2 Hour Parking 8AM-7PM Monday to Friday."
Better start getting up earlier on Saturdays...
