Socialite Paris Hilton was arrested last night in Las Vegas "for allegedly having cocaine in her purse," reports LA Now.
Hilton was reportedly a passenger in a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend Cy Waits that was pulled over near the Wynn Hotel after Las Vegas PD officers "smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle."
"The 29-year-old celebrity socialite was taken into the hotel 'to keep her safe' during the initial investigation, police Lt. Wayne Holman said," according to the AP.
Hilton was released at around 2:45 this morning, without bail. It is not known if she will face charges in the case.
Earlier this summer the starlet was arrested in South Africa for allegedly having marijuana on her, but the case was dropped. Hilton made headlines just four days ago when she caught an intruder wielding a pair of knives trying to break into her Mulholland Estates home in Sherman Oaks.
