A man who approached Paris Hilton's home armed with two knives was arrested early this morning. At about 6 a.m., the man apparently was pounding on the door and windows when Hilton's boyfriend answered it. Someone called the police and the man was soon arrested. His name wasn't released but he is said to be from Redlands and in his 40s. He reportedly never entered the home. "So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him," she tweeted along with a photo (seen to the right).

Hilton lives in the gated Sherman Oaks community of Mulholland Estates.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
