STEVE INSKEEP, host:

And today's last word in business is déjà vu. Wisconsin officials have come up with a new slogan to attract tourists and businesses; it's called Live Like You Mean It. That's the slogan: Live Like You Mean It. And if that sounds familiar, it's because it is. The phrase has been used in ads for energy bars, motivational speakers, diet books; even the rum maker Bacardi used that slogan for years.

Some critics are appalled by what they consider a lack of creativity. Wisconsin officials defend the new slogan, though it seems a little odd considering that a state branding platform the governor unveiled last year was called Originality Rules. May be they could adapt some slogans from other states. I Love Wisconsin; Wisconsin is for Lovers; Wisconsin, the Snow Me State; Don't Mess with Wisconsin; Wisconsin, East Cheese or Die.
