A motorcyclist crashed into a parked car last night, suffering very serious injuries but not harming the people who were sitting in the vehicle, reports the OC Register.

The accident happened at about 6:50 p.m. on Newport Boulevard near 26th Street. The motorcyclist, who hasn't been identified yet, was traveling northbound, and was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment following the crash.

Police believe that the car was parked legally. Several lanes on Newport Blvd. were closed as the scene was investigated.
