Mom Stabbed With Butcher Knife by Husband, Saved by SWAT Team

A SWAT team came to the rescue last night of a Monterey Park woman who had locked herself and her child in the bathroom while her husband stood outside threatening her with butcher knives, reports L.A. Now.
By the time authorities arrived on the scene at about 9:30 p.m., the woman had already been stabbed in the leg, according to KTLA. She was able to hand her 3-year-old son through the window to officers, but couldn't get through herself. The officers then surrounded the house and stormed it, eventually taking the husband, who had barricaded himself in the bedroom, into custody.
The woman's injuries weren't life-threatening.
The suspect, 49-year-old Xiong Chao, is being held on $30,000 bail.
