Michael Jackson's Kids Leave Hand and Footprints at Grauman's Chinese Theater
As surprising as it is, Michael Jackson didn't leave his hand and footprints outside the Grauman's Chinese Theater before he died. So yesterday, his children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, took his old shoes and a sequined glove an left prints in his honor, reports CNN.
Prince and Blanket each pressed a shoe into wet cement, and Paris pressed in a glove. The three also left their own handprints.
The only questionable piece of this otherwise lovely affair is that it wasn't done solely as a memorial -- it was done as part of the promotion for Cirque du Soleil's new MJ-inspired show, "Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour," which happens to be debuting in L.A. tonight.
So, Michael Jackson tributes are wonderful and moving, and this particular honor was long overdue. But using MJ's kids as a marketing ploy? That leaves us feeling a bit cold.
