Man Calls 9-1-1 To Report Shooting Woman Before Turning Gun On Himself

A man shot and killed a woman outside of a home in San Pedro last night before calling 9-1-1 and shooting himself in the head.
The shooting happened in the 3100 block of Almeria Street around 10:30 pm, and it left the shooter in critical condition, according to City News Service. It appears that the victim ran outside of the home and was being chased by the suspect before she was shot twice in the head, police told CNS. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene and transported the suspect to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
The victim was described as a 45-year-old woman, and the suspect was described as a man in his 40s, according to the Los Angeles Times. There was little other information available about the two of them or their relationship.
