LAUSD Teacher Accused of Bringing Students Home to Have Sex With Her Charged With 6 Felony Counts

Gabriela Cortez, a high school Spanish teacher at Roosevelt High School, was charged in connection with bringing underage high school boys home to have sex with her.Cortez, 42, was charged today with six felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, according to City News Service. Cortez is accused of bringing two of her former students to her home in Montebello and having sex with them. Although the alleged victims are adults now, at the time the students were 16 and 17.
The alleged crimes in 2009 and 2010 were brought to light by one of the victims in February. He told Montebello police that he was coming forward because he felt like he needed to get it off his chest. His accusations led police to a second victim.
Cortez was arrested on February 22 and released on $140,000 bail.
