LAUSD Teacher Arrested for Bringing Students Home to Have Sex With Her
Another day, another round of sexual abuse allegations against LAUSD teachers. This time the suspect is a female teacher at Roosevelt High (that's Mayor V's alma mater), who is suspected of bringing at least two minor students (separately!) to her home in Montebello and having sex with them.
Gabriela Cortez, 42, was arrested Wednesday and booked on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, police told City News Service. She was released after posting $140,000 bail, and she was ordered to appear in court March 22.
One of her alleged victims, who is now an adult, came forward on February 15 to get things "off his chest." The first victim said that the teacher and he had sex from 2008 to 2010, according to the Associated Press.
His story led Montebello police to a second victim, who is also an adult now. Police suspect there could be more victims.
