The folks at Omni Hotels realize that many of you are still hungering for an Apple iPhone, and they have two cool ways to feed you this week.

First, each hotel location will be giving away a brand spanking new iPhone, and there is no purchase necessary. All you have to do to be entered in the sweepstakes is to get yourself down to our local Omni Hotel, which is located Downtown in California Plaza, and fill out an entry form--they'll be located throughout the hotel. Entries will be accepted Monday July 23 to Wednesday July 25 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the winner will be drawn by hotel manager Dan Piotrowski during a complimentary reception featuring apple treats and "apple-icious" drinks at 7 p.m. on July 25. If you can't make it down to the hotel in person, fear not--entries will also be accepted during the same time period online and a winner from all eligible online entries will be selected at 7 p.m. CT on July 25 (enter here). It never hurts to check out the official rules, either.

Okay, so you've got your name down to win the gear, but you've still got an appetite for apples. LA's Omni Hotel is home to Noé restaurant, and executive chef Glen Ishii has created an apple-inspired four-course tasting menu, which will be available for $55 during the days of the sweepstakes. And just to keep the apple/Apple vibe going, the Omni Hotel lobby will be transformed into a mini apple orchard and sweet apple treats will be served.

Here's the drool-worthy menu, which fits right in with the drool-worthy gadgetry of the iPhone: Wild Salmon Tartar with Granny Smith Apple and Ratatouille Vinaigrette, Crisped Sweetbread with Apple Celery Whipped Potatoes and Truffle Jus, Kurobuta Pork Loin with Caramelized Apple and Port Wine Gastrique, and Bavarian Cream Beggars Purse with Green Apple Gelée.

To hit up the tasting menu, nab a dinner reservation for any one of the next three nights; Noé is open for dinner 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. And don't forget to enter the iPhone giveaway... like we needed to remind you how precious one of those Apples is. What do you think, they grow on trees or something?

At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.

But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.

We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.

Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
