Video: Charles Phoenix Teaches Conan O'Brien How to Make a Meatloaf Lamb Cake for Easter
L.A.'s own king of kitsch, Charles Phoenix, was on Conan last night to share a few of his Easter-themed retro slides from around the country, and to make a vintage-style "Lamb Cake" with a twist.
Phoenix, who is known as the man behind such festive concoctions as Cherpumple, Tiki-Turkey Dinner, and Frosty the Cheeseball Man, uses a reluctant Conan O'Brien as his helper to adapt the traditional Easter-themed dessert "Lamb Cake" (a cake that looks like a lamb...that might look like Michael Jackson) into a savory dish. This version is meatloaf with piped mashed potato "frosting."
Enjoy Phoenix help O'Brien "beat his meat" and assemble this holiday-appropriate culinary curiosity.
