We Tasted The Chocolate-Fried Chicken At ChocoChicken (Photos)

By Kristie Hang
Does an order of chocolate-fried chicken with a side of white chocolate mashed potatoes pique your interest? Adam Fleischman, the man behind the widely successful Umami Burger, has a new restaurant in the works with the hopes of changing people's perceptions about taste. Fleischman partnered with culinary personality Keith Previte and television producer Sean Robins to open ChocoChicken with the aim of challenging our taste buds. I had the chance to be invited to a preview tasting of the menu that mixes flavors that are seemingly at odds, yet come together perfectly in a delicious harmony.
If you’re one of those people who still haven’t made up their mind whether to gag in disgust or drool in anticipation, I can assure you that chocolate-infused savory foods are not something to shy away from. If you're still skeptical, you'll have a chance to try out their menu when ChocoChicken officially opens its doors for business in June.
ChocoChicken has yet to have a set a firm grand opening date, except to say it will be next month. You can follow them on Twitter leading up to their opening. They have big plans, though: they are already planning to open a second ChocoChicken restaurant in Santa Monica this fall.
Choco Chicken is located at 403 West 12 Street, Los Angeles, (213) 403-1786
