One of the nation's premiere fundraising food events, Taste of the Nation, returns to Los Angeles on June 12th for a day of drinking and eating to benefit Share Our Strength, an organization whose motto is "No Kid Hungry." The event will take place once again in Media Park in Culver City, and guests will be able to sample food and drinks from some of the city's most beloved restaurants, chefs, bars, breweries, and mixologists.

Among the restaurants participating this year include Border Grill, City Tavern, Comme Ça, Craft, Culina, Farmshop, FIG, Go Burger, Grace, BLD, Hatfield’s, ink., Lucques, AOC, Tavern, Michael’s, Mo Chica, Osteria Mozza, Playa, Rivera, Simon LA, The Bazaar by José Andrés, The Foundry on Melrose, Sprinkles, Scoops/Scoops Westside, Short Order and many more. An exciting inclusion in the event this year will be drinks from popular watering holes like The Spare Room and Steingarten LA.

100% of ticket proceeds from Taste of the Nation Los Angeles 2011 will benefit Share Our Strength’s support of Los Angeles area food banks. Tickets are $100 general admission, $150 VIP admission, and $25 for kids. Pre-sale happy hours, tastings, and other events will be offered in May 2011 for the chance to purchase advance tickets at a special discounted price.

At LAist, we focus on what matters to our community: clear, fair, and transparent reporting that helps you make decisions with confidence and keeps powerful institutions accountable.

Your support for independent local news is critical. With federal funding for public media gone, LAist faces a $1.7 million yearly shortfall. Speaking frankly, how much reader support we receive now will determine the strength of this reliable source of local information now and for years to come.

This work is only possible with community support. Every investigation, service guide, and story is made possible by people like you who believe that local news is a public good and that everyone deserves access to trustworthy local information.

That’s why we’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission. It just takes 1 minute to donate below.

Thank you for understanding how essential it is to have an informed community and standing up for free press.
