'Taste Of The Eastside' Festival Has Sweet New Restaurant Lineup

The Taste of the Eastside is back! They'll be bringing some newcomers on board with their fifth annual food festival on May 31 that celebrates all-things delicious from the area that hipsters call the Eastside (Boyle Heights may have something to say about that).
The idea behind this festival, which will be held at Cypress Park's Los Angeles River Center & Gardens, is that a ticket will get you unlimited food samples. But they won't just be your average dishes: each restaurant is supposed to feature a signature dish or a special one created just for the event. Among the list of over participating restaurants include some first-timers to the fest like Knuckle & Claw, a new Silver Lake lobster roll shop that flies in fresh seafood from Maine on a daily basis. They'll also have some mainstays like L & E Oyster, Little Dom's, Gigi's Bakery & Cafe, Spitz, and G&B Coffee (which carries an almond macadamia milk latte that we absolutely love).
As for drinks, the Taste of the Eastside will be bringing on for the first time a beer garden hosted by The Greyhound Bar & Grill, with the likes of Golden Road Brewing and Angel City Brewery serving up some cold ones.
There will be musical performances as well with KCRW DJs Raul Campos and Garth Trinidad spinning on the ones and twos. Band Podunk Poets and Redd Carter will play a live set.

A general admission ticket that costs $50 in advance and $60 at the door will get you entrance to the festival from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. with unlimited tastings. A premium ticket costing $60 in advance and $70 at the door will give you everything a general admission ticket offers, plus a bar flight with three samples and access to the VIP food and mixology demos. The VIP tickets running at $90 in advance and $100 at the door will get you everything a premium ticket offers, plus early entrance to the festival at 3 p.m., early bird parking, reserved front-row demo seating, and a gift bag with goodies from Whole Foods.
