Photos: Delicate, Decadent Bites From James Beard's 'Taste America' Event
Foodies in cocktail attire convened at The Ebell in Los Angeles on Friday night to indulge in a varied menu curated by all-stars of the culinary world. Counted among James Beard Award Winner Hugh Acheson, local chefs from among Jonathan Gold's recently released 101 best restaurants in L.A. list were prominently featured, including Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo of Animal, Margarita Manzke of République, and Louis Pechan of The Ebell itself.
The opening reception also featured tastings by even more L.A. favorites: Jessica Koslow of Sqirl, Ray Garcia of Broken Spanish, and Zach Pollack of Alimento. Attendees noshed on smoked squash, scallops, and other small bites (not to mention a slick array of cocktails from Chef Ari Taymor and Bacardi Gran Reserva) before the main event.
