Photos: Awesome Cakes Of L.A. Landmarks
We have to admit we're pretty much addicted to all the epic cake-making reality shows on Food Network, so it was great to see local pastry chefs whipping up cakes replicating some of our favorite L.A. landmarks as part of a fundraising celebration for Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA.
The cakes, which were on display at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills earlier this month as part of the hospital's “Sweet Side of LA" theme, featured iconic places like LACMA, Capitol Records, Paramount Studios and Griffith Observatory. They were made by top-tier pastry chefs like Charm City Cakes West (made popular by its Baltimore counterpart on the Food Network) and Heslington Cakes for a gala benefiting the hospital. And the cakes looked way too beautiful to eat.
