Evan Kleiman Cooking Crowdsourced Faves at This Is Not a Pop Up
The city of Los Angeles wept unanimously in 2011 when the announcement was made that Evan Kleiman's Italian haven Angeli was closing. The restaurant operated for 27 years on Melrose Avenue, and failed to keep on truckin' due to financial hardship. But the KCRW "Good Food" radio and LACMA pie contest host will be making a comeback from April 18-21 to serve up some of her legendary eats for her beloved fans.
She'll be cooking at This is Not a Pop-Up, seeding menu ideas from her various social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
So far there's been a huge outpouring of requests for her signature gnocchi and handmade bread, with the roasted chicken, lasagne and suppli also getting some love.
Personally, we hope there's some pie in the mix too.
You can find more info regarding reservations on the This is Not a Pop-Up site.
