Actor Adam Tomei & His Pizzas Pop Up Tuesday Nights in Hollywood

Lexington Social House in Hollywood is putting a little pizzazz into Tuesday nights at the restaurant. Actually, they're putting a little pizza into Tuesday nights, thanks to a new weekly pop-up from passionate pizza maker Adam Tomei.Tomei isn't a chef, and the actor doesn't play one on TV either, but his pizzas are the real deal. The New Yorker is a pizza nut, and has made many a trip out to his mecca: Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix. He makes a "CB" pizza in honor of Pizzeria Bianaco owner Chris Bianco; the pie is made with Pantaleo cheese, sliced red onion, slivered almonds, rosemary, and olive oil, and is part of the pop-up pizza line up at Lexington.

There are another three or four pizzas on the menu each Tuesday; we taste-tested them all and in addition to the savory "CB" we liked the cheese and sauce-free Romano (potatoes, pancetta, thyme, olive oil, and sea salt), as well as the classic Margherita. We're told that Tomei's own dough recipe uses “00” (doppio zero) flour from Naples, and he fires them up in the Lexington kitchen in their wood-fired oven. The pizzas are about 8-10 inches, and are prices $12-$16 apiece. Check Lexington's site for the current pizza menu.

The restaurant, which has embraced being less chef-driven since the recent departure of former executive chef Jared Simons, is delighted to have Tomei and his love of pizza firing up customers weekly.
