$10,000 grant available for restaurants affected by LA fires

Topline:
Restaurants and food trucks that have been seriously affected by the fires can now apply for grants of $10,000 to help them get back on their feet. The program is being put together by the California Restaurant Foundation, which aims to disperse almost $2.5 million to help more than 200 restaurants.
How to apply: Head to www.restaurantscare.org/resilience-la-fire to apply between April 9 and April 26.
Eligibility rules:
- Restaurants and food trucks can have up to five locations, but only one location per business can apply.
- The applying location must generate less than $5 million in annual revenue.
- Businesses must be in L.A. County.
- Restaurants must be currently open or have plans to reopen by July 1, 2025.
- Restaurants must have been open for at least one year (since Jan 1, 2024).
- They must be able to show a revenue decline due to the fires.
Who’s behind the program? It’s being run by the nonprofit California Restaurant Foundation as part of its Restaurant Care program. The main donor is American Express, which has given $2.2 million, with the rest donated by FireAid, Resy and Postmates.
