  • A hit and run accident yesterday caused the death of a woman who'd stopped on the 10 freeway in Alhambra after she struck the center divider. Eyewitnesses were able to provide investigators with descriptions of the vehicle, which led police to find the truck, but not the driver that struck and killed the woman.
  • Tainted meat that has since been recalled from a plant in Azusa is being blamed for an E coli breakout affecting 70 people at a Boy Scout camp in Virginia.
  • There have been many aftershocks following the 5.4 rumbler that shook SoCal nearly two weeks ago, but there have been so few of any significance of late that they're being called "wimpy."
  • A fire captain was killed in a traffic accident in Lancaster that involved a collision between his motorcycle and a truck that may have obstructed his path of travel. The deceased is John Ellis of Quartz Hill.
  • Motorists on the 10 freeway near the Garfield exit might have thought it was raining money today when a motorcyclist lost control of a bag of cash he was carrying. Traffic drama ensued when drivers tried to grab some dough for themselves. The CHP helped the poor guy pick up what was left.
