Last month, local ethereal shoegazers Warpaint (MySpace) -- previously mentioned here -- performed at The Echo (MySpace) as part of Weave!'s month-long Monday night residency.

Since then, they participated in the Part Time Punks Festival, with Mouse at Classical Geek Theatre reporting that "...the aptly-named Warpaint slowly, but forcefully, held the ears of their audience in a bathtub of oil until auditory drowning had been achieved. Their sound was a murky one with spikes of intense expression, and would most certainly have been more palatable had it not been three-thirty in the afternoon. As it was, they still made a strong case that the psychedelia need not kick your ass with squealing guitars. Sometimes, a delicate death by decibels is more appropriate."

Tonight, Warpaint headlines with Dawes (MySpace) and Wind and Sea at Alternative Apparel in Hollywood as part of the 1st Annual Skip Work Holiday Music Festival, then with Light in support of Brooklyn-based Amazing Baby (MySpace) at Bordello (MySpace) in Downtown LA. The latter is Joshua Pressman's pick for Tonight In Rock.
