Disney will be releasing a new Star Wars "as long as people will buy tickets" (i.e. FOREVER AND EVER), so to get you ready for Rogue One coming out this December, they've released a very, very juicy sizzle reel (featuring behind-the-scenes stuff) at Star Wars Celebration Europe, happening this weekend in London. Behold:

Just to catch up those of you who have been living under rocks for the last six months, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place before Episode IV and concerns the Rebellion's mission to capture the Death Star plans. In other words, it's an entire movie spun out of the second paragraph of A New Hope's text crawl:

Director Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla) has previously stated that Rogue One will have the feel of a classic, gritty war film instead of a Star Wars film, and it sure looks that way in the footage above. Some of the action even takes place on a tropical island, recalling the War in the Pacific.

A little less exciting is the poster that was also released today at the fan convention, which looks like some cheap fan art. Come on, Disney!

While reports of reshoots in June had many worried that Rogue One would have its grittier tone sanded out, Entertainment Weekly looked into the rumors and said there's nothing to worry about. "The movie is very different than [The Force Awakens], and that’s intentional," an unnamed source told EW. "It's a war film."

Rogue One is scheduled for release on December 16, and has an amazing cast, including Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whittaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, and Donnie Yen. Also, Darth Vader is in the film and of course James Earl Jones is doing his voice.
