'Twilight' Leads This Year's Razzie Award Nominations, Honoring the Berry Worst in Movies
Sorry to disappoint all the Twihards out there, but this year's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II" leads the pack of nominees for the annual Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies.
Lampooning the Oscars--which will reveal their current crop of nominees tomorrow--the Razzies "honor" the "berry worst" the big screen had to offer. This is the 33rd year the Razzies will be handed out.
Not even veteran stars are spared; the iconic Barbra Streisand pulled in a nom for her role as an overbearing mother in "The Guilt Trip." She's up against Tyler Perry in the Worst Actress category, Perry for his gender-bending turn in "Madea's Witness Protection." Worst Actor is a familiar set of names of men whose performances we love to hate and/or hate to love, including Perry again (for "Alex Cross" and "Good Deeds"), Nicolas Cage ("Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance" and "Seeking Justice") and Razzie favorite Adam Sandler ("That's My Boy"). Music world stars who tried to cross over also didn't fare well this year; both Rihanna and Vanilla Ice are up for Razzies for their cinematic endeavors.
The Razzies, whose prize is a $4.79 painted trophy, will be awarded February 23, on the eve of the 85th Annual Academy Awards. Good Bad luck to all the nominees!
