The immensely popular Mazda3 got a splashy welcome for its new 2014 model. A rich metallic red hatchback was unveiled at a loft party steps away from the High Line in Chelsea on Thursday night, followed by a killer set by indie veterans Metric. And for those who couldn't make the party, the vehicle's debut was also streamed live on Xbox.

The new Mazda3, which is the embodiment of its famed KODO design, features new engines, new transmissions, new body, and new safety system (the Active Driving Display is a pop-up panel that displays vehicle speed, navigation directions and other important driving information). The sleek compact also has a new infotainment center: You can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth for your music and even have your texts and emails read aloud with a text-to-voice technology, which can also read your Twitter and Facebook updates—a total gamechanger!
