We're not sure what to say about The Jacket. We went to the LA premiere of the film last night, the first major release from Warner Independent, at the Arclight and, well, the flick is hard to explain without getting into the complexities of the story. It reminded us of 12 Monkeys (not only in some story elements but in actual scenes) but that's not a bad thing. If you accept the premise, it's quite enjoyable and interesting. We're just not sure that everyone is going to accept the premise.

There were two screening rooms, one for fans who won a contest like the one we ran on LAist (Congrats Sose! We'd love to hear what you thought of the film and the experience) and one for the stars and movie people and press. Somehow we got mistaken for a movie exec (because clearly we're not press) and ended up in the primary screening. Most of the stars of the film were in attendance but not Mackenzie Phillips which bummed us out. She's incredibly creepy in the film and we would've loved to tell her so.

On the other hand maybe that would've been awkward.
