When Jay Shells started posting his "Rap Quotes" street art project in New York earlier this year, we have to admit we were kind of jealous. But now, Shell's signs are popping up in Hollywood and Mid-City with shout-outs to our fine city from the likes of Snoop Dogg to Lupe Fiasco.

Shells is a man who knows his hip-hop. In his project, he makes signs with quotes from major rappers that mention specific spots in our city and then puts those signs right at those locations. It's pure genius.

He's had a history with making cool unique projects. On the East Coast, he also posted etiquette signs on the streets and subways of NYC.

Erin Mitchell of Lost Angeles Street Art Tumblr took snapshots of the six she was able to find in the city. We haven't seen Shells give any shoutouts to South L.A. yet, but let's see how many more will be popping up. Be on the lookout.
