Pets Of The Week: Wendy The Pug & Magic The Cat
By Ana Bustilloz/Special to LAist
*** Every Saturday, LAist will feature an adoptable cat and dog from a different local shelter or accredited 501c3 rescue organization. Take a look at these furry bundles and consider giving them a home, or forward their faces to your friends who may be interested. ***

This week’s dog is from the Bill Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues dogs from the Los Angeles City Shelter System and places them into loving homes. The Bill Foundation is a tribute to Bill, a rescued Golden/Lab who succumbed to cancer in August 1998. Bill Foundation founders, Jo and Peter Forman, decided to focus their grief into a positive channel by saving the lives of dogs.
Wendy is a 3 year-old Pug who is adorable, affectionate, and charming with tons Pug energy. She is very social and enjoys being around people and other dogs. She would be happiest in a home with a canine sibling. Wendy loves chew bones and snoozing on the bed. She is obedient and is as sweet as a Pug can be!
Wendy, along with other adoptable dogs, will be at the Healthy Spot Pet Supply Store, 1110 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90401 from 11am-3pm on Sunday March 6th. Check www.billfoundation.org for adoption information. You may complete an application and submit online ahead of time. You must be 21 years of age and live in the Los Angeles area.

This week’s feline is from Stray Cat Alliance. The Stray Cat Alliance is committed to the care and protection of the forgotten strays. Homes are found for every healthy or treatable companion animal, feral cats are fixed and properly cared for, and sterilization is readily available.
Magic is an awesome cat! He is 6 years old and came to Stray Cat Alliance because his previous owner passed away. He is very loving and accustomed to being in a loving home. He enjoys cuddling with his human companion and is a purr machine. Magic’s favorite toy is a feather ball and he loves to sit in your lap and be petted and brushed. In fact he loves it so much, he wraps his paws around your hand to make sure you don't stop! He loves visitors and will prance and meow to get their attention. He is a lovebug! Magic gets along well with all other cats and would be a super sweet addition to your family.
If you would like to meet Magic, come by Centinela Pet & Feed, 11055 Pico Blvd. in West Los Angeles on Sunday March 6th from 12pm-3:30pm. If you can’t make it, call 310-291-8168 or email tammystailwaggers@yahoo.com for more information.
At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.
But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.
Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
