What a big week for Pete Holmes - dude is everywhere! Not to mention the shows you're going to see him on are all LAist favorites, from the star-packed Super Serious Show to the charity-driven Indiglo, and every stand up, improv and sketch show in between.

It's a great week for comedy, folks. So get out, enjoy, and email me if you've got a show coming up that you'd like to see listed here.

Rough Cut & Diamond Lion, 8p Meltdown Comics. Now pseudo-officially called the Nerdist Theater (in the back of Meltdown Comics), they’re really expanding their line-up beyond the usual Comedy Meltdown shows. This time around, UCB teams Rough Cut do the improvised movie, while Diamond Lion perform some of the most amazing musical improv you’ve seen. For serious.

Role Play, 9:30p Improv Lab. Role Play is an ingenious mix of therapy, personal issues, comedy, and celebrities. The 9:30 show has Rob Delaney, Moon Zappa and more.

1642 Comedy, 8:30p 1642 Temple. It’s a strong outing for 1642 Temple, as they’ve pulled in Kumail Nanjiani, Matt Braunger, Pete Holmes and more.

Public School, 10p MBar. The great storytelling show Public School is back, with Jimmy Pardo, Alison Agosti and a bunch of other great writers bringing stories to the stage.

Proopscast, 7p Bar Lubitsch. Proops has been taking his popular podcast on tour, but he’s back in town and using Lubitsch as a home base for a new episode of his ‘cast. And it’s free!

Mostly Normal Show, 10:30p Improv Lab. Last time we saw the Mostly Normal Show, they were outing a joke thief, live on stage. This time around, they’ve got Sam Tripoli, Nick Youssef, Dave Ross and video of the incident in question. Crazy.

Super Serious Show, 8p Smashbox Studios. Pete Holmes, Nick Thune, Kyle Dunnigan, Kimmy Gatewood and The Midnight Show folks are set to make this the best Super Serious Show to date.

The JoRy Hour, 8p Meltdown Comics. Jon Dore and Rory Scovel have all night to do whatever the hell they want to, and the Sklar Brothers are tagging along for the fun.

Middleberger, 7p UCB. Two great improvisers (Thomas Middleditch and Brandon Sornberger) use bad clips from worse movies to inspire their scenework.

Friday Forty, 10p iO West. Take a couple of comics, a couple of 40s of malt liquor, and turn the whole thing into a pop culture gameshow. Watch hilarity ensue.

Horrible Movie Night, 8p The Complex. This show continues to roll along, pitting the audience in a battle of wits against some of the biggest cinematic atrocities the team can find. This month’s Psycho Cop 2 promises to be such a turdfest that they actually got the writer and director to show up. Awesome.

Tomorrow!, midnight Steve Allen Theater. Ron Lynch continues to put on one of the best comedy/variety shows around. The acts are always interesting and consistently hilarious.

Combo Platter, 6p UCB. Jeff Garlin brings up some friends to tell jokes and otherwise talk about life.

Indiglo, 8:30p MBar. Indiglo is back, and looking crazy strong. Pete Holmes, K-Strass, Jon Daly and Margot Leitman will all be there, alongside co-hosts Alison Becker and Judith Benezra. Oh, and they take donations for great causes; this month’s charity of choice is the amazing Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Where will you be?!
