Janelle Monáe's Stylist Has A New Clothing Collection -- At Goodwill SoCal

Your new source for high fashion: the Goodwill. No, we haven't been watching the Macklemore "Thrift Shop" video on loop again (it was a phase, we promise) -- R&B singer Janelle Monáe's stylist Ali Mandelkorn has curated a new clothing collection for Goodwill SoCal.
The collection, "GOOD x Goodwill SoCal," will include both high-end designer pieces and street wear, according to e-commerce company Thrilling, which helps secondhand stores to put their selections on the internet. The collection will be available online, so you don't have to fight off other bargain hunters or dig through bins to find it.
The selections are mostly pulled from Goodwill SoCal's inventory, Thrilling CEO Shilla Kim-Parker told LAist. But there are also some celeb clothing donors, including "Scary Spice" Mel B, actress Tatyana Ali, Loni Love from The Real, Sara Haines from Good Morning America, Carole Raziwill from The Real Housewives of New York City, and others.
Examples of the high-end items that may be available include Prada cargo pants, Bulgari sunglasses, and Chanel flats, while streetwear selections may include pieces like hoodies and Converse high-tops. Check back with this story later this week -- we'll be posting pics of the collection when we get them.
And remember, just like other clothes you might find at Goodwill, the items will be either new or gently worn. Kim-Parker added that they also have a lot of plus size pieces, with everything priced at "a fraction of their original retail price."
You can see examples of curator Mandelkorn's eye for styling Monáe on her Insta, like this one:
(We can't promise that you will find any pieces quite that epic or look that stunning. You probably won't. Sorry!)
Those looking to cop that ArchAndroid style aren't the only ones standing to benefit -- some proceeds are set to go toward a Goodwill job training program for people with disabilities and other disadvantages.
The Goodwill collection launches this Friday and runs through May 1. There's nothing available yet, but once it's up, you'll be able to comb through the virtual Goodwill racks right here.
And until then, you can check out some more of Mandelkorn's Janelle Monáe looks here:
