Box Office Review: Zone Not In The Zone!
Alice in Wonderland dominated the box office for a second consecutive weekend, earning $62M ($208.6M) to blast the competition. Despite it's pedigree, The Green Zone limped to a weak $14.5M debut. The bonerific She's Out of My League suffered a similar fate ($9.6M) as did the evil Remember Me ($8.3M). Shutter Island enjoyed a solid fourth week ($8.1M | $108M), topping yet another newcomer, Our Family Wedding ($7.6M).
Despite getting swamped at the Oscars by The Hurt Locker, Avatar showed no sign of slowing down ($6.6M | $730.4M) while Brooklyn's Finest collapsed in its second weekend ($4.2M | $21.3M). The awful Cop Out ($4.2M | $39.4M) and the decent The Crazies ($3.6M | $33.3M) rounded out the top ten. In limited release, The Exploding Girl enjoyed a lackluster opening despite the huge publicity push for its annoying star, Zoe Kazan.
