Jimmy Kimmel Launches Vice Presidential Campaign, Sells Merch At Costco
On Thursday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the talk show host who likes to make our children cry announced the start of his campaign to become the next Vice President of the United States.
"I am not an egomaniac, I am humble like Mother Teresa," said Kimmel, when explaining why he was running for the second-highest office in the land.
Later during the show's monologue, he explained that the campaign was for real, citing the cost of his campaign bus (adorned with the slogan, "A Good, Solid #2") and also directing viewers to his official campaign website, JK4VP.com.
And what (vice) presidential campaign would be complete without campaign merch? In addition to selling it online, he said on Friday that Southern California Costcos would have pop-up stores this weekend with #KimmelForVP clothes.
Kimmel's show was later interrupted by a CNN Breaking News segment that showed him polling well ahead of other vice presidential nominees. When asked by Wolf Blitzer if he was "making a mockery of this election," the nominee responded, "I think it's too late for anyone to do that, Wolf."
