YouTube Pool Jumper Breaks Both Feet, Starts GoFundMe To Pay For Medical Costs
The YouTube thrill-seeker who made a name for himself with his hair-raising jumps has been temporarily grounded. In his most recent jump, the man known as "8booth" shattered both of his feet after attempting to jump into a hotel swimming pool from three stories up.In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Sunday titled "Pool Drop 💧 8 destroyed me," 8booth, identified as 28-year-old Anthony Armer from an October arrest, can be seen attempting to jump into the pool at Laguna Beach's Pacific Edge Hotel. Unfortunately for Armer, his jump comes up a little short and he ends up smashing his feet on the concrete edge of the pool before hitting the water. Warning: the below video is pretty disturbing and contains a graphic photo of his injuries.
As a result of his injuries, 8booth wound up being hospitalized and has started a GoFundMe to help in his recovery. While the goal is currently set at $10,000, the New York Daily News originally reported it had a goal of $274,000.
As you can imagine, the response from the public has been... mixed. There are plenty of well-wishers, while others have written nastier messages like, "I am sorry but you want us to help pay for you being a dumbass?" As of this writing, Armer has raised just under $1,000 of his fundraising goal.
The Laguna Niguel man has made a name for himself with his previous videos showing him diving into hotel pools and off cliffs. In a video he posted back in September, Armer had a close call when jumping into Crystal Cove. He narrowly dodged the rocks below and was able to walk away with just a few scratches on his back.
