There's still time to enroll in LAUSD's Winter Academy

Los Angeles Unified School District is hosting a three-day winter academy next week, open to students in transitional kindergarten through 12th grade. There's still time to register.
What is the Winter Academy? The program is in its second year (or third, if you count its predecessor, "acceleration days") and provides child care, meals, and an opportunity for students to catch up academically. It runs from Monday, Dec. 16, through Wednesday, Dec. 18.
What happens at Winter Academy? For elementary students, there will be sessions focused on literacy and math. Middle school and high school students will get the chance to improve their grades and participate in college and career readiness activities. The academy is scheduled like a regular school day, and the district provides free meals.

Isn't it too late to join? While the district website says enrollment has ended, a district spokesperson told LAist that families can still enroll students by contacting their child's school.
