Inmate Sent Back to Jail For Stealing His County-Issued Orange Jumpsuit
Can a prisoner become too fond of the County-issued orange jumpsuit they're made to wear? A Colton man released from jail last week has been returned to custody because he "stole" his prison garb and was wearing it post-release, reports L.A. Now.
26-year-old Jerry Valentino Aldama, jailed "on a bench warrant related to a shoplifting charge," eschewed his own clothing in favor of the orange jumpsuit. He was spotted by a bus driver near the Rancho Cucamonga facility from which he was released, and the bus driver reported his choice of garb to local authorities.
By the time the bus got to Fontana, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies were on board and taking Aldama into custody for possession of stolen property.
